FRIENDS OF MUNICIPAL FORMS SPEAKERS’ BUREAU
The Friends
of the Municipal Auditorium has announced the formation of a speakers’
bureau to provide presentations regarding the building and its
upcoming activities.
Any organization interested
in having a representative from the board of directors or the
group’s spokesman, Bob Griffin of KSLA-TV, speak at a function
or meeting should call 318-393-3274.
Part of the presentation
is a PowerPoint to the tune of George Jones’ “Who’s
Gonna Fill Their Shoes?” The Municipal is the former home
of the Louisiana Hayride and where Elvis Presley made his professional
debut 50 years ago. It features a new Stage of Stars museum and
guided tours. The building is celebrating its 75th anniversary
on Nov. 11 with a community event.
